MG&Co. Brought Us Fish-Shaped Hardware
British designer Matilda Goad has turned out a couple new cabinet hardware designs, and we’re crushing on the fish-shaped swing arm hook, knob, and backplate. Available in several styles including brushed nickel and aged brass, the style naturally tucks into Goad’s collection, which is punctuated with touches of whimsy. If you’re looking for a less amphibian shape, the new Wave multi-hook and backplates are an excellent alternative.
Hawkins Made More Colorful Closet Organizing Essentials
We didn’t know we needed lilac closet accessories until we saw them in the new arrivals section at Hawkins New York. The brand just debuted top hangers, clip hangers, grid baskets, and ledge shelves in hues of chalk, poppy, butter, and sage, too. Go full monochrome with your suite or mix and match to be a little cheeky with your color scheme.
AphroChic Released a Rug Collection Inspired by Sojourner Truth
AphroChic, the media and design brand from Jeanine Hays and Bryan Mason, has unveiled a new 13-piece rug collection honoring Sojourner Truth’s life in the Catskill Mountains region. Each beautiful floor covering is like a painted canvas, inspired by the natural elements Truth would have encountered—mountain peaks, wildflowers, the Hudson River. Each rug is made-to-order by expert artisans from Beni Mrirt and Beni Ourain tribes of Morocco using Moroccan and New Zealand wool.
Zara Home Splashed Bedding and Soft Goods with Morris & Co. Prints
Morris & Co. is no stranger to a collab these days and its latest with Zara Home delivers linen throw pillow covers, bedspreads, and blankets as well as sateen duvet covers and pillowcases. There are even pet accessories like floor cushions and blankets. We’re particularly taken with the bedspread; its brown hue and floral jacquard design reminds us of the bedding throughout designer Emily Ward’s Marin home.
Design Within Reach and Devin Wilde Launched an Exclusive Ceramic Collection
When we first saw ceramic artist Devin Wilde’s furniture and vessels during NYC Design Week last May, we knew it was only a matter of time before bigger retailers would take notice of their elegant silhouettes and rich hues. Wilde is a trained architect whose work is often inspired by the likes of Manhattan skyscrapers and Brooklyn brownstones, and you can see the Art Deco influences in his 11-piece collection that’s now available exclusively at Design Within Reach. The artist has introduced four new glazes, inspired by Alexander Girard and the Eameses, as well as a new tabletop design titled Vessel No. IX. We’re desperately coveting the cocktail tables.
Nickey Kehoe and DÔEN Collaborated on an Exclusive Scent
Picture Los Angeles in bloom, the air perfumed with jasmine, eucalyptus, and neroli. Imagine your skin shimmering in the salty ocean air, shoes kicked off to the side. That’s the aroma of Nickey Kehoe and DÔEN’s limited-edition scent collaboration, titled Indra. It arrives ahead of the clothing brand’s new Madison Avenue flagship, designed by Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe, who have collaborated with DÔEN on store interiors for years. The scent, a part of is named for the Hindu god of rain and storms, and is available as a candle (burn time: 50 to 55 hours) and a diffuser.
Original BTC Tapped Buchanan Studio for a Fresh Lighting Collection
Buchanan Studio has just unveiled its Neotenic collection with Original BTC, and the soft, rounded proportions of the table, floor, wall, ceiling, and pendant lights playfully call to mind Neapolitan ice cream. (The colors are titled Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla—so there’s that.) Mouth-blown glass transforms into marbled shades that tilt, and triangle bases are just cheeky enough. The floor lamp is perfectly slender for a reading corner, the sconces would add a touch of cool to the bedroom, and the pendant is waiting to be hung over a dining table.
Brits Kate Guiness and Camilla Hampton Dreamt Up Whimsical Trim
Designer Camilla Hampton creates handmade trim for all kinds of interior projects, available unpainted or handpainted in various scallops, zig-zags, and waves. Together with interior designer Kate Guinness, she’s released a new moulding style called Kate. Inspired by the crenellated edge of a bedside table made by Guinness, the trim takes its shape from Irish Georgian furniture. Available with a painted dot on one side and a blank slate on the other, it can be used around doors, windows, on furniture, and even on shelving.
