There’s design, and then there’s good design. Last year, Domino editors looked at over hundreds—maybe thousands?!—of products to unearth the very best in home design, from furniture to lighting to appliances. (There was even a very chic hamster bed!) We’re back at it for 2023, so here’s everything you need to know to submit your newest launches to our annual celebration of good design.

About the Domino Good Design Awards

The Domino Good Design Awards launched in 2022 to recognize the year’s very best in home products, from decor and furniture to lighting and textiles. We bring our eagle-eyed editors together with an expert panel of guest editors (last year’s included Leanne Ford, Jeremiah Brent, and Carmeon Hamilton) to discuss, deliberate, and sometimes debate the winners across seven categories. And we’re ready to do it all over again.

How to Enter

Submissions for the 2023 Domino Good Design Awards are officially open for 2023. To get your product in front of our editors and experts, please complete this form by midnight (ET), August 31, 2023. There is a $150 submission fee per entry, payable within the submission form. There are no refunds, so please read the below criteria carefully before submitting. Submit as many products as you like.

The Submission Criteria

• The product must have been launched between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023. 
• We’re looking for entirely new product/design launches only. A new colorway will not be considered.
• All products must be available to purchase in November/December 2023. Limited-edition products will not be considered. 
• We may reach out for samples to test or shoot. Please make sure samples are available by the submission deadline. 

Deadline for Submissions

The deadline for all 2023 Domino Good Design Awards submissions is midnight ET, August 31, 2023. 

The Judging Process

We will carefully consider every product entered, although the judges may also consider products that have not been formally entered. We will narrow down the entries to produce a list of potential winners for each category based on criteria including form and functionality, quality of materials, care and maintenance, innovativeness in the category, and how the product makes life easier. From these lists, the judges will choose one winner per category. We will contact you for additional information and product samples as needed. The total number of winners in each category is flexible and based on merit. Judging is final and confidential. There is no connection between advertising in Domino and winning these awards.
