Max Lamb Made a Collection for Potato Head Hotel
Hotel shops are certainly giving boutique stores a run for their money these days. Bali-based hotel Potato Head tapped of-the-moment British designer Max Lamb for a home collection titled Wasted, which uses eight different local waste streams to create products from materials like retired hotel linens, used cooking oil, and oyster shells. Spanning furniture, tabletop, textiles, and accessories, the line is rooted in both Balinese craft and Lamb’s process-driven approach. Unsurprisingly, everything is one-of-a-kind—and makes would-be trash incredibly beautiful.
Crate & Barrel Just Dropped Its Fall Styles
Fall has arrived a little early at Crate & Barrel—the go-to retailer dropped its collection for the season in August and we clocked darker tones, richer fabrics, and a good amount of brass. The bestselling Marin collection got a floral makeover, with motifs inspired by hand-painted platters and salad plates. This semi-translucent glass and resin drinks table wears deep purple well, and a roll-arm sofa in chocolate upholstery trends away from the modern silhouettes we often expect from Crate. Bring on the drama!
Virginia Sin Unveiled Her Fall Collection
Virginia Sin’s eponymous brand SIN launched her latest collection, and with it comes a bevy of new designs across lighting, tabletop, and decor. The Mira mirror feels like a big leap forward for the ceramicist; it’s delicately framed by folded clay. Among other standouts is the Kahn candle sconce, which can be hung in two ways, and the sculptural Noor pillar candle holder.
Layered Made New Jute and Sisal Rugs
Cool girl rug brand Layered added new styles to their line of artisan floor coverings: the Strata Braided Jute and Basket Weave. The Strata is available in three earthy colorways, and the jute it’s made from is in a thick-yarn weave, making it structured yet still soft underfoot for living rooms and kitchens. The Basket Weave is made from hardwearing sisal, perfectly suitable for high-traffic areas.
Tendril Created a Smarter Self-Watering Planter
Self-watering planters aren’t a new concept, but Tendril really cracked the code on packaging one that’s ready to go (sans plant). The system has four levels, with a bottom reservoir for water; a floating water level indicator; a soil vessel that has a watering wick; and a soil liner made with air-pruning fabric. Three compacted soil discs break down to create a layer for planting, too. The cardboard box breaks down to create a repotting mat, which is helpful for transferring that fiddle leaf fig that’s gotten too big.
Arhaus Launched Its First Bathroom Collection
It’s hard to believe that Arhaus didn’t have a bathroom category before now, but that was the case. No longer, though: the brand debuted five vanity collections in August, from the classy Chelsea washstand style to the modern Calista design. Joining these bathroom anchors are etageres, hardware, soft goods, and more—the collection comprises nearly 200 products.
Rocco Drenched Its Beverage Fridge in Tomato Red
Our favorite beverage fridge just added a fiery new color to its mix: tomato red. Rocco’s Super Smart Fridge now comes in the on-trend hue, made in collaboration with MALIN+GOETZ. Each fridge comes with MALIN+GOETZ’s Tomato Home Spray and Zico organic coconut water.
Parachute Designed Adorable Bedding and Bath for Kids
For a brand that’s committed to Oeko-Tex certified fabrics and high-quality fabrics, it seems only natural that Parachute would expand into kids bedding and bath. And it’s so cute: patterned percale crib sheets, organic cotton quilts, cashmere blankets, and organic hooded towels with ears. The colors are neutral with pops of earthy oranges, pinks, blues, and greens—nice enough to not mind when it’s scattered about among toys.
Matilda Goad Debuted New Sconces
While making the rounds on Matilda Goad’s site, as we regularly do, we spotted a few new sconces that you need to know about. The Hive, Donut, and Bistro wall lights all sport a similar shape while feeling totally different. The Hive’s ribbed base feels a little more formal than the chunky Donut, and the whimsical Bistro is inspired by French cafe chairs.
