As if we didn’t love Urban Outfitters enough, the brand just gave us even more so of a reason to— this time, with the launch of a new campaign that celebrates independent artists: the Urban Outfitters Artist Editions Series. The inaugural collection, which unveiled this morning, is comprised of 19 limited edition pieces from four ultra-talented makers from across the country. Curated around a unified theme—and one we can absolutely get behind—this month’s collection is all about plants.
Dubbed as “an eclectic, but cohesive collection of pieces,” the craftsmen and women behind the assortment are definitely here to serve us with all the spring and summer inspiration we could ever want or need.
While it should go without saying that each one of the pieces offered are individual in their own right, we can’t help but notice the complementary nature of the items as a whole. What we are really trying to say is, you’re going to want to buy them all, and we’re not here to stop you.
Ahead, a peek at the pieces we’re adding to our carts (ASAP) and the creatives behind each one.
We are low-key obsessed with Virginia Sin’s style, which embodies the whole effortless chic aesthetic to the T. Imperfectly-perfect is one way to describe her approach to her craft, which yields a scope of truly one-of-a-kind handmade pieces that are refined and unique.
This sculptural catch-all is a prime example of such, boasting a modern yet bohemian-esque finish, courtesy of its unglazed composition and inspired tonal detail. Bonus points for the fact that it can also double as fruit bowl or coffee table accent piece.
Because every plant corner needs a little boost—preferably one that comes in the form of a statement-worthy stool—consider this versatile and beautifully structured piece the ultimate pick. The folding X stool, crafted by LA-based design studio, NewMade LA by Amsterdam Modern, comes in conjunction with a handful of other essentials (table lamp and an ultra chic hanging planter, to name a few) that emulate the brand’s signature, vintage-inspired aesthetic with a touch of modern flair.

There are your typical slew of planters, and then there are planters. Case in point? This deli-bag-inspired option, from Kelsey Ryder of Hello Happy Plants, which definitely puts a refreshing spin on a classic concept. Hand-molded from gypsum cement, it not only makes for the ideal base for those dainty air plants but, it also doubles as a subtle yet dynamic accent.
Come summer, we’re all about filling our space with an unapologetic array of nature-inspired pieces. Florals are a given while an abundant and (preferably) untraditional approach to leafy greens is encouraged. Here is where artist Ted Feighan comes in with his graphic designs and clever collages, which encompass prints that channel the vibrancy of nature and vintage design. We’re all for scooping up this set of pillowcases, clad with a bountiful rendition of a fresh mix of florals and desert greens.
The series, which will be a reoccurring one, will feature a new set of artists each month and will be available in small runs online and in select North American stores. But, act fast, these pieces definitely won’t last long.
