The Row by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen has just found its first home in New York City, in an elegant townhouse at 17 East 71st Street. With the help of Jacques Grange, the twin fashion moguls adorned their new space in Basquiat paintings, a Carlo Bugatti chair, a Frank Lloyd Wright mirror, a Jean Royère standing lamp, and ceramics by Japanese chef Masa Takayama, among other enviable furnishings.

The store’s exterior is stately, and elegant, with a sense of welcome. The Olsens wanted to give their customers a NYC brownstone experience, much as you’d find in a home, while shopping their haute couture.

We love the famous duo’s approach to interior design, it is evolving–much the same way our homes change over time with our developments in taste and the inspiration we glean from travels and trends. Said Mary-Kate of the new space, “Everything is for sale, so it will be forever changing. Even in Los Angeles, it constantly rotates. It’s like your house—you tweak it, you add things, you take away things.”

The twins wanted the space to be an intimate reflection of their joint effort. This is also the first time you’ll be able to shop shoes from The Row, yet another incentive to stop by!
