It’s hard not to want to go all-out on holiday decor when it’s literally everywhere you shop. From moody tablescapes made for gathering over figgy pudding (or, um, a natural wine club shipment) to cheeky tree ornaments, the urge to buy into all this festive hype is real. It can also get expensive—fast. Luckily, Target’s line of decorations, gifts, and accessories will help you get in the spirit without busting your budget.

Topping our personal wish lists: Mantle decor. From nostalgic Steiff-esque figurines to stocking hooks with a western flair, these hearth accessories provide a welcome reprieve from traditional red and green. For that bit of sparkle, look to the set of glittering mini trees—basically, bottle brushes’ chic cousins. And because sustainability is important now more than ever, try draping a wood beaded garland rather than tinsel or faux pine. It’s $10 and will beg to be used year after year.

Her dream apartment would exist on the Upper West Side and include a plethora of mismatched antique chairs, ceramic vessels, and floor-to-ceiling bookcases—essential to her goal of becoming a poor man’s Nora Ephron. You can probably find her in line at Trader Joe’s. You will never find her at SoulCycle.
