Come this Friday evening, stores all across this big country of ours will be putting on their best impression of Hogwart’s School for Witchcraft and Wizardry and inviting in slews of young, aspiring sorcerers for a night of, well, magic.

According to a press release from bookstore beast Barnes & Noble, select locations of the international chain will be offering up a Harry Potter-themed “Yule Ball” on December 9th. Splendid!

We suppose that this nationwide recreation of Hogwart’s winter prom from The Goblet of Fire is designed to rope in the kids for a night of crafting, dancing, and freebies, but we’re looking into our crystal balls and seeing some adults getting in on the action, too. “Wizarding games, enchanting music, and spellbinding surprises,” are apparently also on the menu for all us Potterheads.

The press release didn’t say if formal wizard dress or dates were required for entry, but let’s just go ahead and pretend that they are, okay?
