Our days are punctuated by scouting new talent, attending market appointments, and scrolling Instagram in an effort to unearth the products, people, and news you actually need to know. Here’s what we Slacked one another about this week.

Worth the Weight: Bala Store

It’s no shock that Glossier’s former retail designer, Madelynn Ringo, would concoct the trippiest shopping experience at Bala’s brand-new store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. She has supersized the company’s most popular weights, from its signature bangles to its wavy Bala Beam, so it’s like you’re in a pastel-tinted version of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids as soon as you walk in the door. —Julie Vadnal, deputy editor

Table Talk: Casa Velasquez

After publishing Colombiana, one of last year’s most gorgeous cookbooks (trust me, you want this one on your bookshelf), Bogotá-born food stylist Mariana Velasquez has created Casa Velasquez, a line of tablecloths, placemats, and napkins that is floral without being fussy and just girly enough to make every dinner table casual perfection. —Linda Denahan, photo director

Mamma Mia: Buchanan Studio’s Fabric

I was over here wondering whether I should buy my mom a chic watering can or another robe for Mother’s Day, but then Buchanan Studio reminded me that sentimental is the way to go on May 8. The London-based firm’s first-ever fabric collection features a floral print called Ticking Rose, which was inspired by the many textiles creative director Angus Buchanan’s mother collected and used in abundance in his childhood Cotswolds home. There’s also some punchy stripes and trendy checkerboard motifs in the mix, but this one has my heart. —Lydia Geisel, home editor

Showstopper: Yayoi Kusama’s “One With Eternity

Yayoi Kusama‘s iconic Infinity Rooms have officially returned, this time to Washington, D.C. And if you, like me, missed the Hirshhorn Museum’s first exhibition back in 2017, you’ll have a 30-second window to reclaim five years’ worth of FOMO by nailing the perfect shot fully immersed in polka dots. At the show, titled “One With Eternity” and sponsored by La Grande Dame by Veuve Clicquot, guests can walk through installations inspired by the artist’s hallucinations. If you aren’t a D.C. local—or a visit to the nation’s capital isn’t feasible before November 27—the same feel of the experience can be enjoyed with a Kusama-fied bottle of La Grande Dame by Veuve Clicquot. The design features a reimagination of her signature style as champagne bubbles. It’s almost too pretty to drink. Almost. —Morgan Bulman, associate commerce editor

Hot Stuff: Mel’s

My two greatest passions are pizza and design, so excited was an understatement for how I felt walking into Mel’s—the first of three restaurant-bars to open in the former Del Posto space in Manhattan. With a kitchen led by Michelin-starred chef Melissa Rodriguez and a space designed by MN Design Professional Corporation and Akari Endo-Gaut, every last detail, from the charred broccoli rabe to the glossy sunset-hued tiles, is just right. Looks like I’ll be hanging out in Chelsea a lot more this spring. —Julia Stevens, style editor
