Home tours do so much more than fulfill our never-ending curiosity for how others live. More often than not, we’ll start to notice some recurring themes—moody wall colors, the same sculptural coffee table, or tile trends. Lately, we’re falling for extra-large planters, specifically of the rattan variety. We blame the pretty pedestals in the dining space of this Sussex home…but there was also the one in L.A.-based designer Leah Cumming’s living room. The downside? Oversized options can get pretty pricey (here’s one that’s a cool $555 for proof). And while we’ll never stop searching for a real steal on a vintage pair like this, we’re keeping an open mind (and heart) for other options.
Target’s recent fall collection with Hearth & Hand has a gem hidden among its many designs. This reversible (!) planter-basket stands two feet tall and is the perfect perch for greenery. Even better, it will only set you back $50. Both ends are hollow, so you can choose if you want the smaller or larger basin up top. It’s also made of weather-resistant rattan, so you can use it for your favorite patio fern.

This isn’t the only star from the fall drop. This lamp-shaped candle received an audible gasp, and we’re already dreaming of cuddling up with this plaid blanket. There are also a few nods to midcentury-modern design, such as a wood and brass record organizer, a couchside snack holder, and a small-space-friendly storage cabinet. Another honorable mention is this kitchen clock that has a cooking timer built right in. As you can tell, there’s a lot worth checking out.
