Chris Loves Julia co-founders Julia and Chris Marcum are a constant source of rug envy, thanks to the multiple collections they’ve designed with Loloi. Classic florals, minimalist jutes, bold borders—they’ve done it all, and along the way inspired a room update (or ten).
Naturally, in celebration of their fifth year collaborating with the brand, the Marcums dropped a new set of rugs available on Amazon, Wayfair, and RugsDirect, and this might be their most dynamic launch yet. Ahead, we spoke with Julia to get some insight into the textiles included in the fresh curation.

Their ‘It’ Color for Fall
Lately, the design pro is reaching for blue more than any other color. “For fall, we leaned into these dusty, muted blues that remind me so much of a favorite pair of well-worn denim or that crisp, clear October sky that feels almost nostalgic,” she shares. The Olive rug in Ocean is a perfect example of this, giving us a refreshing update on a classic stripe motif.
The Pattern She’s Still Not Over
Julia can’t get enough of checkerboard and, honestly, same. “They walk this really beautiful line between playful and structured,” she says. The Wheat rug in Apricot would look great tucked underneath a midcentury couch for a modern touch.
The Wild Card
A trip to Italy inspired the Alfie collection, which is dotted with details that remind the couple of Roman columns and Renaissance shapes. “I was struck by how deeply lived-in and intentionally made everything felt,” Julia says, recalling their trip. “That’s what I wanted to capture in Alfie. These colors bring a sense of history and boldness all at once—like they’ve been here forever.” We feel it most in the Blush design in Rose.
The Newcomer with Quiet Confidence
Who says florals aren’t a fit for autumn? “Rue really stands out to me this season,” Julia says. “It has this soft, almost block-printed look that feels so collected—like something you might have inherited, but with a fresh, modern spin.” Keep the antique vibes alive by placing the Moss/Blue option underneath a canopy bed.
The Power of Florals
When it comes to the checkered-heavy Calvin collection Julia’s loving, she has a go-to styling trick: “I love pairing them with a floral pillow or two, then bringing in some silver accents. It instantly creates this modern, romantic vibe that feels both cozy and elevated,” she says. The Posie and Fawn patterns can blend in with just about any existing pillow assortment on your couch, while a lone Darla cushion will jazz up a boring entryway bench or small settee.
