Murano glass has existed for centuries, but this is the first time it’s getting the Dusen Dusen treatment. The animalian makeover, a collaboration between the Brooklyn-based designer and Milanese glassmaker Laguna~B, reimagines a water pitcher’s handle as a fish fin, the spout as a bird’s break or zebra’s muzzle, and the coordinating cups as their respective babies.
Best Tablecloths: Block Shop x Shakers Collection
Exploring Shaker villages was a formative part of the Block Shop founders’ childhood, so much so that the brand partnered with the historic Hancock Shaker Village in Massachusetts on a line of tablecloths, napkins, and wall art. Together, they breathed new life into the drawings of artist Hannah Cohoon, who was active during the peak of the Shakers’ influence, using the Indian block-printing techniques Block Shop is known for.
Best Tableware: Arita Collection by Roman and Williams Guild
When Roman and Williams speak, the design world listens, and the studio’s custom table settings for Marcel, Sotheby’s restaurant in the Breuer building on New York City’s Upper East Side, were big news. Of course, the porcelain plates, bowls, cups met the moment: hand-painted, 17th-century–inspired pieces decorated with archival patterns, all crafted by artisans in Japan.

No longer will you have to scald your hands on Pyrex en route to your friend’s potluck. Staub, the 52-year-old French cookware company, teamed up with Los Angeles’s favorite Francophile, Clare Vivier, to create an impossibly chic carrying case for its signature cast iron pots. Equal parts function and fashion, this sporty tote is an adorable accessory for dinner parties and picnics alike.
Best Countertop Accessory: Bal Paper Towel Carrier by Upton
An item that goes largely ignored in most kitchens? The paper towel holder. California-based brand Upton, however, gave the dispenser its full attention, reimagining it in powder-coated burgundy (or chartreuse!) steel. Allow it to take up a little more real estate than the hapless roll currently on your counter.
