Nearly two decades ago, landscape architect Mario Nievera reached out to friend Keith Williams for help on a professional assignment. “I immediately recognized the potential of combining his architectural knowledge with my artistic background,” recalls Williams, who at the time was pursuing a successful career as a graphic designer and painter. Eighteen years later, what started out as an occasional collaboration has blossomed into Nievera Williams Design, a full-fledged business partnership. Together, they’ve reimagined everything from elaborate rose gardens to penthouse terraces to landmark shopping centers—including Palm Beach, Florida’s Royal Poinciana Plaza, which they’re currently renovating. “We love clients who have a passion for living,” says Nievera, “people who’re looking to get in touch with their environments and to incorporate nature into their everyday lives.”
