domino stopped by S Artspace Gallery in downtown New YorkCity to check out the latest work from Sam McEwen.
After curating pop-up art shows in Los Angeles and Montauk in 2013, New York City cultural agency, The Committee, offered their first Manhattan exhibition in SoHo at the esteemed S Artspace Gallery.
The exhibition featured an eclectic group of works from the likes of Robert J. Anderson, Marylyn Dintenfass, David Goodman, and four bold new pieces from Sam Mcewen.
For her latest artworks, Sam Mcewen looked to the season for inspiration, creating two pairs—one with warm pink hues and the other with cool blue tones—of lighter, ethereal paintings. “I based the pieces on nature and the ambience of summer,” she explains. “The leaf and feather details next to the free-flowing lines of the abstracts make for an altogether brighter and more optimistic feel.”
