After years of tinkering with leather and ceramics during off-hours, designer Juliana Hung decided it was time to turn her passion into a career. So, in the fall of 2013, she released the first line of fashion accessories from her new company, Jujumade—ranging from cinched canvas backpacks to stoneware bangles to porcelain-beaded straw hats—all artisanally made in Los Angeles. “My products come from a lot of experimentation and research,” says Hung. “I’m so inspired by the potential of my materials.”

“I’m constantly trying to find new ways to wear my pieces,” says Hung.
