Designers Kim Hayden Holt and Meredith Bauer helped stage Jared Leto’s 4,000-square-foot home for Modern Living LA. “Every house tells a story and this property is no exception,” Holt says. “The interior feels light, bright, and airy; the perfect blend of California cool with a touch of Hollywood glamour.” The home recently hit the market for $2 million.

In addition to the lagoon-style swimming pool and massive patio out back, the property also includes a state-of-the-art recording studio where a musician like Leto—or Jordan Catalano—can entertain and unwind. Listing agent Brian Courville adds, “It’s the ideal retreat for a creative person.”

Built in 1955, the secluded estate features oversized windows—such as the bay ones in the dining room—that lookout to the ivy-covered privacy walls and lush, tropical landscaping.

The turquoise and yellow accents in the downstairs den draw from the surrounding landscape (think ocean water and sunshine) while the pool table and wet bar provide a little manmade distraction. Says Holt: “The space is a perfect spot for a laid-back California evening at home with a great glass of wine and some amazing music.”

In the master suite, warm wood tones are layered with pops of orange and blue to add some personality without distracting from the gorgeous views.

The lavish master bathroom boasts black-and-gray marbled floors and an oversized soaking tub with room for two.

The formal office-study comes clad in bold colors and sculptural silhouettes, paying homage to the home’s midcentury-modern roots.
