Fact: There is nothing better than a warm chocolate beverage for the holidays. Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is a 92-proof artisanal liquor inspired by sailors who once enhanced the flavor of their on-board rum rations by aging the liquid in wooden casks and blending in spices. This distinctive Caribbean rum is produced in the U.S. Virgin Islands and features a retro hula girl on the bottle, giving it a cool, throwback vibe.
The liquor has a great idea for upping your hot cocktail game: “The bold flavor of our spiced rum pairs great with the velvety chocolate keeping you warm during the holidays,” says Sailor Jerry brand ambassador Ashley Marsh.
Here’s how to make it at home.
Hot Chocolate Recipe:
- 1.5 oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
- 1.5 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
- 3 oz hot chocolate
- A dash of orange bitters
Add equal parts liquor to the hot chocolate, and then top with whipped cream, shaved chocolate, and garnish with a cinnamon stick or candy cane. Then enjoy the chocolatey treat and feel extra toasty.
