Ben Soleimani is making the world a more beautiful place.

Textiles are in Ben Soleimani’s blood. Born into a family boasting four generations of rug makers—including his

father, who founded luxury carpet company Mansour in 1980—the Persian-born Soleimani opened the brand’s first American showroom, Mansour Modern , when he was only 20 years old. For him, it’s never just been about the textile trade: “I wasn’t trying to start a business,” he says. “I was trying to beautify the world around me.” Recently, Soleimani retired from the family biz to pursue his own real estate and design ventures. These projects include his highly sought-after rug collaboration with Restoration Hardware ( the Ben Soleimani Collection for RH ) as well as his efforts to transform Melrose Avenue, where his flagship shop still resides. “One can always be a follower, but that’s not a very exciting way to live,” Soleimani states. “To prosper creatively, you have to continue to grow and expand your horizons.”

“I design from my memory and imagination,” Soleimani explains. “My real studio is inside my head.” The beautiful collections pictured here are all available at RH stores.
