As the scorching hot summer days come to an inevitable end, outdoor dinner parties can once again resume, sans worries of bugs or sitting under the sweltering sun. After all, is there anything quite like relishing a meal on a chilly autumn evening?

When it comes to your next fête, switch things up with a slightly more untraditional approach to the seating. We’re all for a more (ahem) grounded arrangement that is both casual and chic, regardless if your party is stationed indoors, or out. Here, we explore three varied takes on a classic floor seating setup.

Take a look!

1. Beach-Bound Blues

Opt for a light and airy aesthetic, emulating the cool blue tones of the ocean. Mix and match pillows of a reserved palette with slight fluctuations in pattern and texture. We paired our beachside setup with an assortment of outdoor pillows and a beach towel.

This tasseled pillow doubles as the anchor piece of the scene, balancing out the eclectically patterned covers on the opposite side of the table.

On the table, an elegant china plate set is paired with mod, copper flatware and wooden serving bowls. A heaping hydrangea branch provides the table setting with a dynamically defined layer, emulating the color scheme of the setup.

When in a pinch, use a beach towel in lieu of a tablecloth!

2. Autumn Blush

Taking cues from the stunning fall landscape, we set out to create a seasonally-fitting scene complete with inspired colors and cozy textures. Perhaps more appropriately reserved for the indoors, this setup embodies a more casually elegant flair.

Take to a low-set coffee table as the starting point. Opt for pillows of a specific palette to imitate the shades present on the landing pad on which the setup will live. From there, incorporate in more solid pieces to avoid a cluttered or messy feel.

Filter in basics to offset the intensity of the boldly textured throw pillows.

3. Indigo-Inspired

If there is one thing to take away from this scene, it’s that lacking an abundance of color does not necessarily have to hinder the extrinsic aesthetic of a setup. Here, a captivating scheme, reserved to an array of blues, tops a whitewashed backdrop that is further elevated by the subtleties of the pillows’ textures.

Pops of color in the form of fruit and florals accentuate the overall effect of the scene!3.

Atop the table, we opted for servingware in a dusty shade of blush to complement the coolness of the blues.
