From glossy backsplashes to textured showers, when it comes to zellige tile, you may think you’ve seen it all. But based on the latest addition to Clé’s artisan collection, unique twists on the beloved material are still alive and well. Today the brand added 24-karat-gold– and platinum-painted versions to its assortment of rustic, handcrafted tiles.

The pieces (which give off Studio 54 vibes) are as elevated as they sound, providing a look worthy of royalty. You’ve also got to have deep pockets like a queen to afford them (they’ll cost you a cool $555 to $575 per square foot). But when it comes to metallic tile, keep in mind that a little goes a long way. In fact only a handful of shimmery rectangles are necessary to pack a serious punch.

Luckily Clé is providing another way to create the decadent yet understated effect: its Essaouira Lustre blend. This special pattern, developed by Clé founder and chief designer Deborah Osburn, consists of 1,100 pieces in each bundle and is only $26.42 per square foot. The package includes a heavy dose of neutral-toned zellige tiles, one box of rose pink slabs, a hint of olive green, and 20 gold pieces for that perfect (and budget-friendly) pop of glamour.
