Meet Jessica Cardelucci, Minted + domino’s Featured Monthly Artist!

As a self-taught photographer, Jessica Cardelucci, prides herself on drawing inspiration from the world’s natural beauty. One look at her collection, and it’s evident that the California native’s work is heavily influenced by a passion for color and life. Cardelucci recalls discovering her mother’s childhood Breyer horse collection as one of the early drivers of a life-long bond and affection for horses, a theme clearly defined within a number of her artistic creations. Here, the artist touches on the secret to a beautiful home and the one getaway she’ll never forget

WHERE DO YOU FEEL MOST INSPIRED? I am most inspired when I feel free. Horseback riding or visiting the beach are my go-to places when I need encouragement. Being around animals and traveling are my favorite experiences, which quickly ignite the passion in my art. Showcasing the harmony between humans and nature is romantic, beautiful, and almost magical. I hope it inspires people to value the preservation of our environment as much as I do.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE? My style is very simple, mostly black and white. I love using neutrals colors and adding pops of color here and there. I’d say my personal style crosses over into my photography work quite seamlessly.

WHAT MAKES A HOME BEAUTIFUL? I love when things tells a story. When decorating, I prefer a “less is more” approach, which consists of elements that have memories and meanings behind them. My personal favorite piece, in my home, is a coconut that my grandparents mailed to us from their vacation in Hawaii.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BEING AN ARTIST? My art is not complete until I share it with the world. My favorite part about being an artist is not only exploring my personal passions, but sharing them with everyone. It’s an exciting challenge to convey a feeling through an image and to be able to share that with others. It’s so rewarding to hear how my images uplift people and bring back wonderful memories of their own.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION? My camera! It’s hard for me to go anywhere exciting without it, although I am getting better at leaving it home so that I can enjoy the moment in the present.

ON WHAT ITEMS DO YOU SCRIMP? Definitely clothing. As much as I love fashion, I’m always spending my time seeking my next adventure or riding horses. I find it hard to purchase new clothes because I always end up ruining them.

ON WHAT ITEMS DO YOU SPLURGE? Other than camera lenses, food and travel. My husband and I love getting out and trying new things. When traveling, we especially love experiencing the different cuisines and taking photos.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATION? Bora Bora, my heart stops just thinking about it! My husband and I recently went on our honeymoon and it exceeded all expectations. The blue lagoon was just breathtaking.
