In my early 20s, I considered bar carts an essential piece of furniture, right up there with headboards. Everyone who had their life together seemed to have one. But somewhere along the way, I had a change of heart. For starters, they take up a ton of space while simultaneously not holding much. Not to mention, I’ve never seen anyone actually roll one around their home—why not just display your barware on a stationary wall shelf or credenza? I had successfully resisted the urge to buy a bar cart. Then I saw AllModern’s new collection with Meso Goods founder Diego Olivero.

Olivero, who once upon a time led West Elm’s artisan program, focused on sculptural entertaining staples for the 15-piece assortment. The Freya bar cart is by far the largest piece in the collection, and the most eye-catching. It’s got all the typical makings of a bar cart—four wheels, a handle, glass shelves—but the fluid, wavy frame sets it apart. Handcrafted from stainless steel, it looks like something you’d find in a chic Milan apartment (and, at $1,199, has a price point that reflects that).

With this being AllModern’s first notable collaboration since its Jason Wu partnership several years ago—and arguably its most stylish drop to date—I’m betting these items will sell out fast. If you’re not ready to commit to the bar cart, here are some more affordable accessories in the collection worth considering.
