It’s summertime and the livin’ is easy—as your beauty routine should be. Which is why we’ve assembled this easy, on-the-go summer beauty routine—but all from drugstores, and under $30. But just because it’s cost-conscious doesn’t mean it’s cheap: All these products are worth your hard earned cash.
Sunscreen
Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Face Dry-Touch SPF 50, $6.39
Zinc for the win, always. As we’ve discussed before, mineral sunscreens are really fabulous. This Neutrogena one is great because it’s not going anywhere (zinc, you magical beast) and is the best at protecting skin—but because it’s zinc, that also means it has a bit of a white cast to it. So put it on before makeup as kind of like a sunscreen/primer duo, and then put your makeup on. It’ll be great and blend in once you add your concealer and bronzer.
Concealer
NYX Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand, $3.49
Okay, seriously, this concealer is so, so great. 1,300 positive Amazon reviews can’t be wrong, right? Concealer is kind of all you need for a summer day around town, and this baby blends flawlessly, as well as comes in 20 shades.
Bronzer
e.l.f. Cosmetics Bronzer, $4
Bronzer with a touch of blush and highlighter is really a three-in-one, and at $4, this is pretty much the grab of a lifetime. The four shades in this pack blend seamlessly for a more natural look, and work better than one single bronzer color.
Waterproof Mascara
L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara, $7.12
Major volume, major lengthening, and majorly waterproof. Yes, yes, and yes, thank you. And it never seems to clump, flake, or smudge. Whatever’s in this formula is magic, and it only costs $7.
Lip
Revlon Kiss Lip Balm, $3.49
Who doesn’t need a foolproof lippie? Slather this tinted lip balm on—you don’t even need a mirror. It’s even great for your cheeks as a flush of color, and it’s also super moisturizing: f-o-o-l-p-r-o-o-f, guys.
Sea Salt Spray
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Spray, $4.69
This is literally under $5, it smells like a heavenly beach, and it gives gorgeous texture and curls—again, for less than $5 (we can’t get over it). Love, love. Oh, and it’s alcohol-free (your hair really appreciates that) and cruelty-free. I’m switching from my everyday (quadruple the price) sea salt spray to this baby ASAP. Even if you don’t want beachy hair, it’s a great texturizer. It gives a little grit to clean hair, making it look instantly cooler.
There, see? We did it! Now get out there and enjoy the sunshine.
