For a little extra inspiration, the Domino editors’ favorite Instagrammers takeover our feed each weekend. It’s safe to say tips and covetable images are aplenty. Here’s what you need to know about the most recent feature!

Laura Hooper of @lhcalligraphy has handwriting that gives us serious envy. She’s the go-to girl for personalizing any occasion (think weddings, showers, holidays, and more special events!), using her talent for creating stunning works of lettered art to embellish cards, coasters, and everything in between. With over 20 years of experience practicing the art of calligraphy, Laura knows a thing or two about incorporating gorgeous lettering into a variety of different projects. Between her writing that is almost too perfect to look like it was really done by hand and her expert entertaining skills, we were beyond excited to have her takeover our Instagram this past weekend.

Just in time for the holidays, Laura shared some super cute ways to add a touch of thoughtful personalization to your festive decor.

Chic Wine & Cheese Display

Add detail to your highly trafficked appetizer platter by lettering the decorations you already have—pumpkins included.

“Of course as we enter fall, you have to have pumpkins, and we like to get fancy by adding hand lettering to ours (don’t worry, we offer these in our shop if you aren’t into DIY!). You can easily combine them with specialty napkins and your favorite wine and cheese spread to really wow your guests. Using simple party goods such as napkins and coasters that incorporate hand-lettered and watercolor designs in various fall colors and foil printing will elevate your soirée with even less effort,” says Hooper.

Lettered Napkins

To say these cocktail napkins are cute and functional would be an understatement. We love how they give you the ability to be creative and include your favorite holiday sayings in your holiday gatherings.

Hooper says, “Want to help your cheese platters and dessert displays really impress with even less effort? Add napkins that incorporate hand-lettered and watercolor designs in various fall colors and foil printing. Plus, they are disposable for easy clean-up, too!”

Specialized Ornaments

Hooper, like many of us, is already onto the post-Thanksgiving festivities.

She says, “If you’re like us and already thinking ahead to Christmas, ornaments are another great place to incorporate beautiful lettering. They make perfect gifts and can commemorate special events like engagements, first Christmases, pet love, and so much more! Personally I keep my tree in the neutrals, but have added lettering to dozens of ornaments for an extra spark of interest.”
