For years, L.A.-based hairstylist Jen Atkin has tended to the tresses of every Kardashian and Jenner sister, Chrissy Teigen, and Reese Witherspoon, traveling all over the world for shoots and red carpets. Last year, she launched a much-lauded haircare line called Ouai, featuring shampoos, conditioners and styling products.

This month, Ouai and Dyson (which introduced a Supersonic hairdryer to the market late last year—Atkin is a brand ambassador) introduced a pop-up shop at Henri Bendel’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue, for which Atkin created the four hairstyles on offer.

By way of Dubai, we checked in with the hair entrepreneur to see how she winds down on the weekends and what she does in order to reset for the week ahead.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Check my iPhone, put on some Gangster rap (Tupac and Biggie somehow get me up in the a.m. and help me get through emails—“Keep Their Heads Ringing” is a fave) on Sonos and then make tea. In the morning, I wash my face with Ayur-Medic Manjista Cleanser or Scrub, then I apply Mario Badescu Facial Mist with Rosewater and Aloe, Epione Eye Serum, Glossier Priming Moisturizing and Balm Dot Com. Afterwards, I apply makeup. I love a red lip (Kylie Lip Kit #22 and Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Carnal) and a lash!

What are your favorite things to do for yourself on the weekends?

Climb into my Kylie Jenner sweats and never get out of them. I love taking classes at Barry’s Bootcamp and am so excited they just opened a studio in Dubai! I also love ModelFit in L.A. and SLT in N.Y.C. and just discovered Midtown Studio in Paris. I love working out with the Ouai Treatment Masque in my hair for deep conditioning.

How do you unwind?

I go on vacay every six months to recharge. [Editor’s note: Atkin and her husband Mike Rosenthal just returned from vacation in Morocco with besties Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.] As my husband and I are both Pisces, we always need to go to the water to recharge. Our favorite vacations include anything beach, island, and tropical. We love Italy, Greece, Mexico, the Caribbean and St. Barts.

How do you deal when you’re away for the weekend?

Most weekends I’m working and traveling!

What are the activities or errands on your “must-accomplish list” every weekend?

Massages at Spa Montage in Beverly Hills and The Now, go to iPic with my husband to see a movie, have dinner at Jon & Vinny’s and catch up with friends and their little ones.

What do you do on Sundays to prepare for the week ahead?

I enjoy Sundays until the very end and don’t think about Monday!
