Dressing a festive table should be like accessorizing for holiday parties: fun and stylish, with just the right amount of sparkle. So when we hosted a dinner party with CB2 at our holiday outpost in Los Angeles, we were inspired by the art of mixing, and looked to CB2’s knockout range of tabletop to mix and match colors, textures, and metal.

We enlisted Helen Johannsen of Helen’s Wine Shop and the culinary team at Jon & Vinny’s to create a five-course meal with wine pairings, we curated a different place setting for each course using CB2’s collection. Here’s how you can recreate each look at home—you can even use our menu template by downloading the file here.

Setting 1

We like to start meals off with a bright color moment. We loved the Crisp Matte Chartreuse Yellow Salad Plate mixed with the chic, Mid-Century Modern feeling of the Brut Flatware. For glassware, we chose the Ghost Smoke Grey Wine Glass that complemented the black stem of the flatware.

Setting 2

The Stainless Steel Plate Collection is perfect for entertaining—it adds such a holiday pop of metallic. We wanted to keep this place setting more streamlined, so we mixed the metallic with the Allegra Brush Black Flatware as it has great clean lines. For wine, we opted for our editors’ go-to vessel, the Marta Tasting Glass.

Setting 3

Next, we went with a more festive party vibe, using the Moonrock Plate as a futuristic base. We then layered on the iridescent Beta Flatware and Clarity Wine Glass.

Setting 4

For the fourth course, we wanted to have a slightly softer touch. We started with the simple but elegant Contact White Salad Plate and added a pop of copper with the Allegra Copper Flatware. For the wine, we opted for the sophisticated vintage feel of Sophia Optic Wine Glass.

Setting 5

We decided to have fun with shapes to end the meal, starting with the Intermix White Square Plate plus the Intermix White Serving Platters. The Kat Matte Black Flatware played well with the shapes with its simple squared off silhouette. We used the Crush Wine Glass for our dessert wine, which has a sleek V-shape from the side and is a perfect circle from above.

An eclectic tabletop mix can spice up any holiday table. Be sure to check out all of CB2’s offerings at cb2.com and our holiday pop-up shop at Fred Segal through January 2nd.
