As two twenty-something gals, we sometimes find that there just aren’t enough pennies in the piggy bank when it comes to our home decorating dreams. But we don’t let that stop us from injecting a little sophistication into our own spaces. With one simple DIY project, we designed this glamorous and gold-filled entryway that can add some serious function to any wall in your home. Follow our five steps, and you’ll have a drop zone that isn’t just stylish, but organized too.

1. DIY Shelf: There’s no need to go out and purchase a complicated and expensive shelving unit. Instead, we picked up wood and brackets for under $10 and gave them a little TLC. Gold spray paint and

marble contact paper

helped spruce up our shelf, without breaking the bank. You can visit our blog for the full step-by-step tutorial on how to create your own faux marble shelf.2. Fashionable Organization: Your entryway is valuable real estate, as it’s a spot that holds your daily necessities. Keys, scarves, mail, and sunglasses all need a place to call home. Wall hooks and a mail sorter add some major function to this little corner.3. Mirror: Not only does a mirror add some light and glam to your entry, but it’s also helpful for those last minute touch-ups when running out the door. No more smeared lipstick for you!4. Add Life: Incorporating fresh flowers, plants, or succulents (if you have brown thumbs like we do!) are all great ways to add some life to your entry. Greet your guests with a little mother nature.5. Personality:Your entryway is most likely the first area guests will see when entering your home, so make sure it shows off your personality and style! Incorporate your favorite books, quotes, and photos so they get a dose of who you are and what your home is all about.
