To usher in the fall equinox, abandon your PSLs (that’s pumpkin spice lattes, for the uninitiated) in favor of a spiced, spiked libation. To get some inspiration on unexpected autumnal produce and ingredients to use in your fabulous fall concoctions, we turned to Oscar Wilde‘s head mixologist Johnny Swet.

The bar, ironically enough, is located in the former headquarters of NYC’s Bureau of Prohibition in the Flatiron district. Swet crafted the newly opened literary themed bar’s cocktail list inspired by the Victorian and Prohibition eras. Oscar Wilde’s unexpected offerings include ingredients like gin slings, bee’s knees, and absinthe drip, to name a few.

Here, a few of Swet’s cocktail recipes debuting soon on Oscar Wilde’s fall menu, incorporating seasonal fruit favorites pear, cranberry, and pumpkin.

The Little Prince

This vodka spirit involves pear instead of peach, which Swet serves at the bar.

Ingredients:

  • 1oz Bison Grass Vodka
  • 1oz Mathilde pear liqueur.
  • 75oz Alvear pale cream sherry
  • .5oz Agave
  • .5oz Lemon Juice
  • 4 dashes of plum bitters

Muddle the Mathilde pear liqueur and shake it with ice, strain, and pour the mixture into a tall glass. Use pellet ice and top with a splash of Sprite and garnish with a pear slice.

Cranberry Sauce Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Silver Tequila
  • .75oz Lime Juice
  • .5oz Agave

Add a heaping bar spoon of canned cranberry sauce, shake/ice/strain and pour it on the rocks in a glass half coated with a sugar/pink salt mix. Use Kold draft ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

Pumpkin Pie Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Ravo Vodka
  • .5oz Lime Juice
  • .75oz OJ
  • .5oz Agave

Add a heaping bar spoon of pumpkin butter. Shake it with ice, strain and then pour the mixture into a metal mug with Kold draft ice. Stir in ginger beer and garnish with half an orange wheel.

These fall flavor combos will kick your dinner party up a notch, whether you serve them for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Columbus Day weekend.
