By Alyssa Thiel   Hi friends! My names is Alyssa Thiel and I’m the owner over at Parris Chic Boutique where we have an extra special place in our heart for all things home decor. Last month, we packed up our car and traveled to Virginia’s finest with a super talented team of friends. We found ourselves at a gorgeous historic manor, Retreat at Cool Spring, to gather design inspiration, snag some pretty photos, and of course, enjoy this little slice of heaven. Today, I am so excited to share with you some of our favorite tips and tricks for freshening up your home with bright, white summer decor – enjoy!

There‘s no better way to bring the fresh breeze and natural light of summer into your home than by opening up all your windows and letting the sun in! Keep everything from your sheets to your window treatments natural and light in color so that you can wake up refreshed and ready to breathe in the summer air. Not only does this make everything look clean and crisp, but waking up in a room filled with the season’s natural light will help you get your day started on the right foot.

One of our favorite ways to decorate with white is to combine different textures and patterns. Pair up your favorite cream linens, white ceramic plates, and even freshly picked blooms for a beautiful neutral tablescape. It will be sure to please the eye and complement summer’s charming simplicity.

Creating a blank, white canvas is key for a simple and fresh look. Begin with something like a white wall, a large furniture piece that resembles white in color, or even paint statement items like fireplace mantels and built-in shelving. Don’t be afraid to pile white and cream together in a room! You can then add simple accents like fresh greenery, or small decor objects to break up the colors.

Bring the outdoors in by picking fresh white flowers from your garden and scattering them throughout your home. This is a great way to keep both the scent and visuals of summer alive in your home.

Use marble wherever and whenever you can! Marble is a great interior must-have that cleans up any space. We love this marble tile, counter top, and even mirror that brightens up this master bath. A fun way to incorporate marble into your home without breaking the bank: grab a small slab at your local hardware store or a pretty white marble cutting board to add the fresh feeling of the stone into your space.
