Whether you enjoy a glass of wine at dinner or love to shake the perfect gin martini for your friends when they come over, chances are you have a stash of alcohol somewhere in your apartment. Maybe it’s just a couple of half-opened bottles stuck in a corner or perhaps it’s a full-blown alphabetized collection, but one thing’s for sure: You need a dedicated place for it.

Small space–friendly bar carts saw a big popularity spike—until we collectively realized that they required way too much dusting. And as much as we’d all love a backlit, built-in marble wet bar complete with a hammered brass sink, it’s not really within the realm of possibility for most of us (especially when our landlord scrutinizes every hole we drill into the walls).

Luckily, there’s a happy medium: the dry bar—a hybrid of the two that’s basically a storage piece without all the plumbing and fancy bells and whistles. “People have gravitated more toward closed storage bars, as it helps to conceal any clutter,” says Sara Khodja, divisional merchandising manager at CB2. With the holidays around the corner, there’s no better time to give your whiskeys and gins a proper spot in your home. Here are a few options to get you started:
