If you’ve been neglecting HomeGoods for all your decorating and furnishing needs, you’ve been missing out. Not only does the national retailer have virtually everything one could ever want in a store—seriously, you can even buy cake in there—but the constantly-rotating assortment of goods means that there’s always something new. And, given that no two stores are exactly the same (there’s no online selection, either), it’s almost like shopping for one-of-a-kind goods at a marketplace of sorts.

If this isn’t news to you and you’re a long-time HomeGoods (and now, HomeSense!) devotee, we’re on the same page. Need some inspo for your next trip to the retailer? Here are the HomeGoods items we never leave the store without.

Bathroom Accessories

Mackenzie Dunn, Digital Editorial Intern

Almost my whole bathroom is outfitted with cute accessories from HomeGoods. From the plush bath mat to the canvas shower curtain to a metallic soap container, I always find their selection to be pretty chic and high quality.

Coffee Table Books

Lydia Geisel, Digital Editorial Intern

HomeGoods is low-key the best place to snag amazing design books (including our very own styling guide!) and other statement reads for the coffee table. They’re usually on super discount and are in pretty solid condition, too; just keep an eye out for torn covers. The display shelves, as we all know, can get a little chaotic.

Wall Decor

Hayley Squire, Email Marketing Manager

Not only is their wall decor super affordable, but the inventory there changes so frequently that there’s always something new to choose from. Whether you need something big for your living room, small for your bathroom, a one-of-a-kind piece of art, decor, or even hooks, they always have it—usually in multiple options.

Outdoor Must-Haves

Kristin Limoges, Associate Lifestyle Editor

I’m super impressed by HomeGoods’ outdoor decor. I saw this incredible hanging chair that looks so chic; and darnit, who doesn’t need a hanging chair, whether it’s for your outdoor patio or just your living room corner? And, last time I was there, I became obsessed with this plant holder that looked like a pricey vintage score. It could hold about six plants and came in the most interesting/expensive-looking shade of green. Still wish I bought it!

Pots and Pans

Anna Kocharian, Digital Editor

I love stalking the kitchen aisle for deals on pots, pans, and any other kitchen essential I would be hard-pressed to splurge on. I snagged a cast iron skillet and an enamel pot, which have both held up beautifully for the last four years or so.

Tableware

Elly Leavitt, Associate Digital Editor

I could probably live in the HomeGoods kitchen aisle. They have some pretty great tabletop finds, including chic dinnerware items that look like they were sourced at a Parisian flea market… which is 100 percent the origin story I plan on providing whenever someone asks me where I got my terracotta serving bowl.
