What better way to get over dreary, winter blues than by channeling the season ahead? Seeking direction from the prominent themes of summer—and fueled by a current micro-trend in design—our latest decor crush is an abstract interpretation of a wave. Studio Swine’s latest installation, Wave. Particle. Duplex.first sparked the idea. A product of A/D/O’s Designer in Residence program, the pieces in the collection were centered around the ephemeral elements of fog and light translated into a vivid, immersive exhibition. Since then, we’ve noticed the fluid motif present within a wide array of decorative staples, extending from tabletop accessories to lighting, dishware, and even storage.

Channeling the tonal qualities of a wave, as well as the structural components, we scoured the collections of our go-to brands to find the items that emulate the concept with an artful yet contemporary spin. Let the summer countdown begin.

It’s not only about the decorative objects themselves, but it’s also about the pieces they can be paired with. Case in point: Pairing a Brutalist-inspired vase with a plant or filler green that emulates the contours of a wave with a statement-worthy finish.
