How One Beauty Entrepreneur Relaxes: Yoga, Long Baths, and Morning Tonics
For the Tenoverten cofounder, the weekends are all about finding time for simple pleasures.

Tenoverten co-founder Nadine Abramcyk created the concept of the non-toxic nail salon in New York City. Last fall, the brand opened its first Los Angeles outpost (and sixth location) at The Platform in Culver City, which features additional services like brow shaping, lash tinting, sugaring, and waxing. The brand also boasts a collection of 8-free, vegan, and cruelty free nail polishes in 39 flattering shades.

We checked in with the entrepreneur to see how she winds down on the weekends and what she does to reset for the week ahead.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Kiss and cuddle with my kiddos in bed for as long they’ll deal with me. Then, I put my luxurious Hatch cashmere robe on to head into the kitchen where I boil water for my morning drink of choice, which is warm water with fresh lemon juice, turmeric, and cayenne. I also take my supplements first thing in the morning daily with this morning tonic.
What are your favorite things to do for yourself on the weekends?
I like to indulge in an hour and a half yoga class at Lyons Den Power Yoga in Tribeca on Saturday mornings. I also really enjoy reading the newspaper, which I never get to do during the week.
How do you unwind?
I unwind by taking long baths. I’m always trying out new beauty products and am very into bath soaks at the moment so I enjoy a 20 minute plunge with a detoxifying element in the tub.
How do you deal when you’re away for the weekend?
I love getting away for a quick two-day trip, and I travel really lightly. I am always on call with the six salons operating long hours and open seven days a week so I have my iPhone glued to me whenever I am traveling. But otherwise I find a change of environment really inspiring and typically brings me home refreshed.
What are the activities or errands on your “must-accomplish list” every weekend?
I try to spend as much time as possible with my kids and husband on the weekend so anything that involves them is on our must-do weekend agenda. We typically have a family brunch at Yves in Tribeca with friends and their kids and love heading to the Whitney Museum for the kids open art session on Saturday mornings. I don’t have much of an agenda on the weekends since there is always such a big one during the week. We lay low and see where the day takes us most of the time.
What do you do on Sundays to prepare for the week ahead?
Sunday nights after the kids are asleep is a time that I will use to jump on my computer and look ahead for the week. I plan my meetings for the week, schedule any special time I need to spend at any particular salon, and do personal planning such as after school activities for the kids, making grocery lists, online shopping for household goods, and even signing up for that week’s exercise classes. I try not to spend too long doing this as being on my computer right before bed wakes me up too much. And afterward, my husband and I indulge in our latest TV obsession which was most recently The Crown.
