While the average homeowner might find it financially advantageous to live through a home renovation, Taylor Swift is not one for tarp-covered furniture and early morning jackhammering. When the A-lister decided to remodel part of her $50 million Tribeca townhouse back in 2016, she decided to cozy up in an equally lavish residence in the West Village. The price you pay for peace and quiet each month? $39,500, to be exact.

According to the New York Post, Swift’s former rental—which she called home for a year—hit the market for a cool $24.5 million when it was first listed in 2017. Fast-forward two years later and the townhouse has finally found a buyer at a seriously discounted price of $11.5 million.

Built as a carriage house in 1912, the splurge-worthy property boasts a kind of countryside charm that’s hard to come by in a city like Manhattan. Harkening back to her Nashville roots, we can’t help but think Swift might have been a little homesick.

While the rustic barn doors that flank the home’s facade recall its storied past, the three-story home has been completely modernized inside. Dramatic double-height ceilings welcome a flood of natural sunlight in the first-floor living areas. With ample wall space, the place is primed for large-scale art.

Featuring high-beamed ceilings, paned glass windows, and Russian Ipe wood flooring, the second floor is just as impressive. Along with a gourmet kitchen, gallery, and guest room, the space even includes a formal dining room with antique brick walls sourced from Paris.

Still not convinced Swift was getting her money’s worth? The glamorous indoor pool, which boasts a Murano chandelier, arguably justifies the price tag.
