We’d Happily Put Shea McGee’s Nursery Dresser in Our Own Bedroom
Her baby is a design star in the making.

With baby number three on the way, designer Shea McGee knows a thing or two about creating a nursery that will last well beyond the toddler years—and even into the teenage stage. The key: timeless storage. In an Instagram post this week revealing a few of her top registry picks with Babylist, McGee showed how her six-drawer Huxton dresser, a piece sold through the McGee & Co. shop, could easily live in a little one’s room, too. Who said kids’ spaces can only have mini furniture?
While it’s not the most budget find out there at $2,900, the solid oak piece with soft-close drawers can hold anything from onesies and diaper covers to soccer jerseys and sweatshirts. In other words, it’s built to last and we think it justifies the splurge. Take a page out of McGee’s fresh farmhouse book and top it off with a two-tone ceramic vase.
Of course, there are necessities worth buying for those first few years (even when you’re welcoming a new sibling into the fold). Topping McGee’s registry: items she didn’t realize she needed or weren’t around a few years ago, like the ever-popular Snoo smart bassinet, a cute cactus bottle brush set, Lalo’s sleek high chair–to–play chair, and a Coterie diaper subscription. It’s the little things (and a few bigger buys) that help a family of five run smoothly.
