Jessie Randall

is the founder and creative director behind beloved accessories brand Loeffler Randall. We checked in with the talented designer, who lives in Brooklyn with her family, to see how she winds down on the weekends and what she does in order to gear up for the week ahead.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up on Saturday?

Snuggle in bed with my six-year-old son, Harry. He gets up super early and comes into my bed with his stuffed puppy and car pillow, and we snuggle. That’s my favorite thing to do in the whole world.

What are your favorite things to do for yourself on the weekends?

I like to book a hot stone massage for myself from time to time. That’s like therapy and exercise and meditation all rolled into one for me. Extra bonus if I can book it directly on my phone without having to call anyone! Another thing I love to do is work on some sort of craft project. I just knitted my son a hat with his initials on it. Right now, I’m working with a friend on an overly-ambitious school auction art project. We are making fabric portraits—based on portraits the kids drew of themselves—into a quilt. It’s super time consuming, but I love stuff like that. Working on a craft project calms me and quiets my mind. It’s even more fun to work on with a friend.

How do you deal when you’re away for the weekend?

I love to go away on the weekends to our beach house in the Hamptons. It’s so beautiful and quiet there. I can just relax and cook for my family. That is my happiest place.

What are the activities or errands on your “must-accomplish list” every weekend?

Ha! With kids, I accomplish exactly nothing on the weekends. Errands for me happen during the week or through the mail. I do like to get some grocery shopping in, though, so I can cook a nice meal for everyone on Sunday.

What do you do on Sundays to prepare for the week ahead?

I text and email lots of people about the kids’ schedules. With three kids, scheduling is no joke! I prep food for the week, stuff bathing suits in backpacks, coordinate a grocery delivery, etc. I usually make a to-do list on my phone so I remember everything I need to accomplish. I also try to lay out a cute outfit for myself to wear on Monday.
