Aside from playing his music, there’s now another way you can keep Prince’s memory alive in your home. Pantone just released a customized color in tribute to the icon—a deep (and fitting) shade of purple called “Love Symbol #2.”

“The color purple was synonymous with who Prince was and always will be. This is an incredible way for his legacy to live on forever,” Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor to Prince’s Estate, said in a statement.

Prince was known as “The Purple One,” so it’s unsurprising that the posthumous color dedication reflects the singer’s most recognizable symbol. The color purple played a key role in the musician’s career, spanning lyric references, wardrobe choices, a custom-made Yamaha purple piano, and, of course, the iconic 1984 film and accompanying album, Purple Rain.

The Pantone Color Institute released the color in partnership with Prince’s Estate, over a year after the singer’s death in April 2016. The bold hue is meant to be as statement-making as Prince himself.

“Love Symbol #2 is emblematic of Prince’s distinctive style,” says Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute. “Long associated with the purple family, Love Symbol #2 enables Prince’s unique purple shade to be consistently replicated, and maintain the same iconic status as the man himself.”

Looking for ways to incorporate the iconic shade into your home? Stay tuned—the singer’s Estate is currently in talks with various partners about potential product collaborations—which means, we soon may be able to buy Love Symbol #2 furniture.
