Come summer, sweltering heat and humidity can make strolling the streets of New York City borderline unbearable. But a dip in the pool? Now, that sounds downright dreamy! Good news: You don’t have to book an expensive hotel room or join an exclusive members-only club to turn your aquatic fantasies into a reality. Some of the city’s coolest rooftop pools offer day passes. Here, six spots to take a dip this summer.

La Piscine at Hôtel Americano

Tucked away between the High Line and the Hudson River, this 56-room boutique hotel boasts a rooftop pool and coastal Mexican fare. Weekday passes for non-guests are $40 each (the pool is complimentary on weekends), leaving you plenty of denaro to order tacos and spicy margaritas.

McCarren Hotel Pool

Ok, so it’s not technically a rooftop pool, but it’s too cool not to include. Situated on the ground level of the McCarren Hotel, this popular swimming spot is the place to see and be seen in Brooklyn. Non-guests can reserve a weekday pass for $55 or a daybed for $150. On the weekend, prices rise to $65 and $175, respectively.

Plunge at Gansevoort Meatpacking

If you have $200 to shell out, you can “Play Hooky” (which includes all day access to the 45-foot pool, a drink voucher, a bottle of Fiji Water, and a copy of the New York Post) at the Gansevoort’s trendy Meatpacking property. While the package may be pricey, you could always do some work between lounging and swimming—this way it pays for itself, right?

Jimmy at The James New York

While public access to the pool is prohibited during the week, every Saturday and Sunday in the summer (starting at 3pm) this swanky Soho roofdeck hosts an epic, no-cover pool party that’s open to the masses. If fun in the sun is what you’re after, this is the place for you.

Le Parker Méridien

Looking for a true escape from the heat? This midtown hotel pool features floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can enjoy stunning views of Central Park without having to brave 90 degree temperatures. Non-guests can purchase a day pass for $150. While this may sound steep, the rate includes access to the gravity fitness center, covered pool, and outdoor sundeck facilities.
