This may just be The Novogratz’ smartest collaboration yet. The design duo—and real-life husband and wife—just launched a collection of children’s furniture in partnership with Walmart, and the result is a practical, yet stylish line of bedroom essentials both parents and kids will love.

Why is this a particularly brilliant move for the designers? Well, Robert and Cortney Novogratz have seven children of their own—and as a result, have more firsthand experience regarding exactly what kid-proof furniture demands than most people do. Plus, unlike made for kids bedroom furniture that can often verge on the cliché, The Novogratz’ design-forward perspective makes for timeless pieces that will work for years to come.

“Having seven kids, we tend to think we know a few things about kids’ furniture,” says Cortney. “We are huge Europhiles and have always loved the Scandinavian look, as it’s very clean, timeless, and happy.”

The Scandinavian influence is clear, as each item in the 16-piece Addison Collection has a sleek white finish. Some incorporate wooden details for contrast, which slightly elevate the design, while still keeping it minimalist.

The collection includes a range of bedroom staples, from two dresser options and a nightstand to multiple bookcase designs and a desk. There’s even a daybed—Cortney’s favorite piece—that comes complete with storage cubicles to eliminate clutter from toys laying around.

“We think kids’ furniture should look great, and not cost an arm and a leg. We also love to design transitional pieces that can be used longer than more kiddie-looking designs,” explains Cortney of how being parents influenced the design of the collection.

Another way the duo kept practicality at the forefront is with the price: The Addison Collection is both budget-friendly and built to last, with items ranging from $59.99 to $229.99. The affordability angle contributed largely to the way the partnership with Walmart came about in the first place.

“We have worked with them for a while,” says Cortney. “We thought that there was a big void for great-looking kids’ furniture on a budget, so it was a no-brainer.”

This isn’t the first time The Novogratz have worked with a mass retailer to provide designer pieces at attainable prices: The duo have an ongoing collaboration with Amazon, where they’ve translated their signature bold aesthetic into a series of artwork, decor, and furniture offerings. They even brought the collection to life at an NYC pop-up shop this past holiday season, where shoppers could view the pieces in person, as well as attend special events.

And while the Walmart collaboration may be directed toward kids, fans of The Novogratz can expect the same commitment to quality and chic design that’s exhibited in every product launch—just head to Walmart.com now to see for yourself.
