Visiting a person’s workspace is like taking a peek inside their brain. Whether it’s at home or in an art studio, Nice Work explores where creative people do all of their, well, creating—so that you can steal their on-the-clock style.

Names: Kim and Vanessa Pham

Occupation: We’re the founders and sisters behind Omsom, a proud-and-loud Asian food brand crafting pantry staples that make cooking with hard-to-find ingredients possible in any home kitchen.

Where we work: Our brightly colored headquarters designed by Future Projects is based in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Time I start:
Kim: 9:30 a.m. sharp.
Vanessa: I have my first call at 9:30, but I keep the camera off to ease into the day.

Time I clock out:
Kim: 7:30 to 8-ish p.m. I’m trying to be better, I promise!
Vanessa: 7 to 7:30, so I can work out or squeeze in an acupuncture appointment.

How I get to work:
Kim: I live in Williamsburg, so I’m a quick li’l Revel ride away.
Vanessa: As a south Brooklyn girl, I’ve got two trains to get to Omsom HQ.

Three words that describe our space:
Kim: Funky, third culture, rowdy.
Vanessa: Trippy, vibrant, playful.

The most important thing in our office:
Kim: The instant ramen wall by our kitchen. We have all types of noodles across Asian cuisines stacked up on top of one another. I’m sorry, but there is no better midday pick-me-up than some Indomie—it’s small enough to be a snack and deeply savory. I like to add an extra spoonful of sambal to punch up the flavor!
Vanessa: I swear by my VIVO standing desk.

What’s on the walls:
Kim: I am obsessed with the murals that cover our conference rooms. They feel so classically Omsom—proud and loud. The pattern nearly smacks you in the face, and we love that. We’re all about bringing superbold flavors and uncompromised storytelling around Asian America, and our space should reflect that.
Vanessa: The custom neon sign with our logo brings the whole place together.

My current creative fuel:
Kim: Dirty chai lattes with oat milk.
Vanessa: Cometeer oat-milk iced lattes as the weather turns.

What I turn to when I’m stuck:
Kim: TikTok. Aside from doom scrolling, it’s a great place to find inspo for authentic, fun storytelling.
Vanessa: My journal. When I’m stuck, it’s a sign that I need to reframe and reflect.

How I stay organized:
Kim: I live and die by TeuxDeux, a simple yet seamless app for daily tasks.
Vanessa: I am the queen of Excel planning and to-do lists.

Favorite pen:
Kim: This is the most basic, but I am obsessed with the Bic Round Stic ballpoint. It’s trusty and consistent.
Vanessa: The Pilot Hi-Tec-05. I love a good needlepoint gel option.

Best notebook:
Kim: Moleskine with the grid lining.
Vanessa: The Leuchtturm1917—so many colors and great German craftsmanship.

Technology I can’t live without:
Kim: My AirPods. I used to be a hater, but now I can’t imagine taking work calls without them.
Vanessa: The Sonos Sound System is critical to set the vibe.

Desk chair that I could (and do) spend hours in:
Kim: I found a vintage wood and black leather chair for my home office, but I cheat during the workday with a decidedly unsexy seat cushion.
Vanessa: My vintage black leather Charles Pollock for Knoll—mid-century, bb!

How I fight the 3 p.m. slump:
Kim: Go for a walk to the corner coffee shop for a green tea.
Vanessa: Text my long-distance partner for a bit, because he always gives me a good laugh.

Ideal office snack:
Kim: Shrimp chips! I grew up on NongShim’s, so I stick to the O.G. brand…29 years later.
Vanessa: Yishi oatmeal in taro flavor with blackberries.

Preferred soundtrack:
Kim: Early 2000s hip-hop and electro dream pop.
Vanessa: Upbeat, melodic house and disco.

Things we can’t work without:
