Okay, fine, we admit it. We love to check out new restaurants in the city, not just for whatever unique culinary delight or cuisine the hottest chef in town is debuting, but also to scout decor inspiration. And surprise, surprise, new NYC restaurant interiors are giving the food served a run for its money. Here are our 7 fave new spaces for eating… And getting majorly inspired.

P.S. We get our openings info from The Infatuation, your guide to eating in the city.

le turtle

177 Chrystie Street, NYC

Whoever designed Le Turtle read our minds and created our dream interior. The man who took this photo said it was “possibly the sexiest restaurant in Manhattan.” Oh yeah, and the food is French new wave, which definitely sounds cool enough to try.

the lucky bee

252 Broome Street, NYC

As if the phrase “farm-to-table Asian” isn’t a mic drop moment, The Lucky Bee had to go and make their interior a mix of funky and modern. Bonus: This Broome Street space opened this February (as in like, right now), so you can still be the first of your friends to recommend dining there.

tilda all day

930 Fulton Street, BK

It’s official, we want to move into Tilda All Day. Located in Clinton Hill, this gem has been open since the fall, but that’s not stopping us from including the restaurant on our list. The menu features breakfast, brunch, and lunch items that are available until the restaurant closes at 5 p.m.

tijuana picnic

151 Essex Street, NYC

If you want to be transported back to the 70s in an instant, it’s time to make a reservation at Tijuana Picnic. This LES restaurant opened this past fall and people have been talking about it ever since. Their Mexican fare is okay (just kidding, it’s AMAZING).

llama inn

50 Withers Street, BK

The walls are made of windows, the seating makes us want to permanently attached a cool, modern stool to our behinds, and contemporary Peruvian food is served. Warning: Reading the menu will make you salivate AND you can get an entire rotisserie chicken for just $40. See you there!

lilia

567 Union Avenue, BK

If eating Italian in a minimalistic interior (with exposed ceiling beams?!) in Williamsburg sounds like your perfect evening, you’ve found your new go-to. You’ll find us inhaling the Ricotta Gnocchi.

lowlife

178 Stanton Street

Basically, all you need to know is the walls feature pine panelling and the cost of your meal will be anything but low—but worth it. So worth it.
