It’s the stuff of a ceramic-phile’s dreams: splashy patterns, bright colors, vases that resemble elephants. One look at fashion brand Mr. Larkin and Danish artist Maria Lenskjold‘s collaboration, and you’ll want to put every last vessel on your holiday wish list—but do it fast, because we’re sure the just-launched collection is going to sell out.

It was only a matter of time before the two teamed up. Mr. Larkin founder Casey Blond already had one of Lenskjold’s pieces in her living room, and an item from the artist’s Flower series sits prominently in the brand’s Copenhagen storefront. The two became friends through the city’s creative community. “I’ve been nearly begging her for a year to do a small run of objects to sell,” Blond tells us. “She doesn’t normally make more than one piece of each artwork, which is why we’re doing a very limited offering.”

From oversize pots to mini plates, the line ranges in price from $50 to $1,000. The whole thing is an ode to cool Scandi style—the colorful, slightly irreverent kind, not the all-white IKEA kind—and was based off fabrics from Mr. Larkin’s Spring 2020 collection. The full origin story is a bit trippier. “We were inspired by hallucinogenic plants!” says Blond. “It’s an extension of our clothing and my love for improvised instrumental music, like that of the Grateful Dead.” That explains the aforementioned elephant head–like silhouette.

This a product range for anyone who doesn’t take decor too seriously. The majority of Lenskjold’s pieces are nonfunctional: They seem like vases, but they’re closed at the top. “If you know Maria, this is her playful sense of humor to a T,” explains Blond. Everything is available now—we have earmarked a few of our favorites, below. We’re heading into peak SAD season, after all; never underestimate the power of joy-inducing ceramics.
