The days are getting longer, the temperatures are climbing, but your local pool is likely to stay dry for the season. That doesn’t mean you need to go the summer without taking a dip, though—all you have to do is join the countless others who have made the very smart decision to buy a quarantine-friendly inflatable option.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a West Coast heat wave resulted in a major spike in sales for three makers of stylish kiddie pools. Mylle (which produces design-forward, adult-friendly inflatables), Funboy (which makes pretty much any kind of float you can imagine), and Minnidip (which specializes in particularly colorful options) saw above-average demand in April—the result of people craving a way to stay cool while they stay safely at home. Summer will look different this year, but you can still live poolside, even if you only have space for one with a diameter of five-and-a-half feet.

Although temperatures may not have jumped in your hometown just yet, now is the perfect time to order an inflatable so you’re prepared for when it does. The feeling of soaking up the sun on the first summer day while lying in a stylish pool full of cool water is pretty hard to beat.
