Christmas has arrived at Kensington Palace—where Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William all currently reside—and it looks absolutely magical. In a video uploaded by the Historic Royal Palaces Twitter account, the palace’s Christmas tree is shown as it’s unloaded and decked out in an elegant array of golden ornaments.
Though the tree stands tall, its relatively simple monochromatic decor balances out its massive silhouette, giving it a charming appeal. It’s not the kind of overtly opulent decoration you’d see in, say, Netflix’s A Christmas Prince. In fact, the no-nonsense combination of uncomplicated baubles and warm-toned string lights has us rethinking maximalist tree schemes.

This will be Meghan and Harry’s last Christmas spent in their London digs, as they prepare to move to Frogmore Cottage, which is on the property of Windsor Castle (where they got married and took their engagement photos), and it looks set to be a perfectly festive one. According to People, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, may even join them by special invitation from the Queen herself. After all, decorations may get the holiday season going, but it’s family that really brings the cheer.

We’ve yet to get a glimpse at the decorations that have surely been placed in and around the palace, but a few additional photos of other royal residences show plenty of gorgeous boughs and baubles. If anything’s certain, it’s about to be one royal Christmas indeedfor this new couple.
