I don’t think we’re in a shared two-bedroom NYC rental anymore, Chandler. The beloved TV character’s IRL counterpart Matthew Perry is selling his Los Angeles mansion, and it’s pretty gorgeous.

The 3-bedroom and 4.5-bath property features a master suite complete with a glass wall looking directly onto an infinity pool. The contemporary 3,821-square-foot residence also boasts an open-plan living/dining space, state of the art kitchen, and hardwood floors throughout.

However, the outdoor area – built in 2011 as a modern homage to the Case Study Houses of the mid-40s-60s – is what really makes the home stand out.

Featuring multiple fire pits, a reflecting pool, a grassy lounge area, a dining pavilion, and a massive LED-lit infinity pool, the entire backyard is visible through the home’s floor-to-ceiling glass sliders. The more impressive view is that from the backyard itself: the vista stretches out from Downtown LA to Century City to the Pacific Ocean. Partners Trust, which currently holds the listing, describes the residence as “a private Hollywood Hills oasis floating above the glorious city.”

“The simple and clean aesthetic is punctuated with elements of dramatic and sophisticated style, creating a very unique visual experience,” says listing agent Greg Holcomb. “The home features some of the most impressive views of the city in a remarkably private environment.”

Located in the highly-coveted Bird Streets neighborhood, there’s no doubt the home is fit for a movie star. Though, if there were any doubt, the subterranean movie screening room whose windows look directly into the swimming pool firmly settles the question.

Perry, who bought the property in 2011 for $8.5 million, is now selling it for $13.5 million. No word yet on what would motivate him to leave such a beautifully-designed luxury home, but according to the Los Angeles Times, his new theatrical gig may have something to do with it: Perry’s “The End of Longing” premiered last year in London and just recently opened in the U.S. as an off-Broadway production.
