At $16.745 million, the six-bedroom penthouse in the former Standish Arms Hotel is the most expensive home on the market in Brooklyn—and actor Matt Damon has had his eye on it for a while. The Wall Street Journal reported on rumors that the star was considering the extravagant New York apartment in late 2017 and now, property records confirm he secured the space.

Located in Brooklyn Heights, the re-imagined residential building was once owned by Jehovah’s Witnesses, but was sold in 2007 to an investment group that turned it into apartments for rent. It has since been fully restored and turned into a 29-unit condo by development firm DDG and Westbrook Partners, who first put apartments up for sale back in September 2016.

We don’t know much about the actual 6,218-square-foot penthouse yet, other than the fact that it’s a mashup of three other units and has a massive 3,366-square-foot outdoor space. (These images are all from a model unit.) But judging by the ample space and sky-high price tag, it’s safe to assume that Damon’s new digs are every bit as luxe as you’d expect from a Hollywood A-lister.

The Standish is a 12-story Beaux Arts-style building designed by Frank S. Lowe, a Brooklyn architect responsible for numerous buildings in the neighborhood. The historic structure was constructed in 1903, and soon became well-known in popular culture: Clark Kent allegedly lived in room 5H, and the hotel itself was named in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.

The building has a full-time doorman, fitness center, and both private and bike storage available. So, if you’re in the market for a new home and have a few million dollars to spare, you’re in luck: The sought-after building still has five apartments available (per Corcoran), which range from $1.45 million to $7.13 million.
