Fresh off their honeymoon, Marc Jacobs and his husband, Char Defrancesco, are skipping newlywed bliss and heading straight for settled married life. According to Mansion Global, the fashion designer has officially listed his Manhattan townhouse for a cool $15.9 million after nearly 10 years of calling the luxurious four-story spread home. Why the sudden urge to escape the city? Earlier this month, Jacobs purchased a Frank Lloyd Wright house in the quiet suburb of Rye, New York. If that isn’t the ultimate excuse to slow down, we don’t know what is.

Spanning roughly 4,400 square feet, Jacobs’ impeccably curated West Village townhouse exudes old-school glamour through a careful mix of contemporary art, Art Deco furniture, and pieces from the 1970s. In an interview with Architectural Digest, the New York native—who enlisted the help of John Gachot of Gachot Studios and longtime friend Paul Fortune to help with the design—described his style as “smart, sharp, and comfortable.” We couldn’t agree more.

In the listing photos, design lovers can sneak a closer peek at Jacobs’ extensive art and sculpture collection, including the Urs Fischer print in the dining room, as well as vintage decorative treasures.

Here are three decor items we’re hoping he takes to his modern waterfront oasis. Note to movers: You’ll want to handle these gems with care.

The Gabriella Crespi Coffee Table

The shining star of Jacobs’ oak-paneled TV room might be the enormous Dopey sculpture by Paul McCarthy, but we only have eyes for the brass coffee table by beloved Milanese designer and 1970s icon Gabriella Crespi. A metallic touch will surely lend an edge to all the stone and wood at his new estate.

The Lalanne Sheep

Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne’s chic sheep don’t come cheap, but the whimsy is certainly worth the splurge if you have a couple of thousand dollars lying around. The celebrity-favorite find is a fitting choice for the bedroom. Why waste time counting sheep in your head when this friendly companion is there for you?

The Ellsworth Kelly

We can’t think of a better way for Jacobs to pay homage to Frank Lloyd Wright than by filling the walls with fellow modernists. The sunny yellow painting by Ellsworth Kelly that currently hangs above the designer’s custom-made mica mantel will feel right at home upstate.
