Former Domino cover girl and star of HBO’s The Deuce, Maggie Gyllenhaal is the type of person we want to be when we grow up. Aside from her serious acting chops and effortless style, the actress also happens to have our dream home.
According to Variety, the Academy Award–nominated actress and her actor husband, Peter Sarsgaard, have put their picturesque Brooklyn brownstone on the market for $4.6 million. The pair has called the Park Slope abode home for the past 10 years but are reportedly looking to relocate to a neighborhood where they can walk their kids to school.
While there’s no telling whether the pair will stick to a nearby search or make the big move to Manhattan, we can’t help but think that this might be your only chance to scoop up Gyllenhaal’s covetable digs for yourself.
Peek inside the star’s swoon-worthy brownstone ahead.
Built in the late 1800s, the four-story townhouse is brimming with architectural charm (just peep those reclaimed chestnut floors). The space spans three bedrooms and two full baths, with a spacious garden for outdoor entertaining and warm summer days out back.
A spacious living room and library-turned–music lounge are located downstairs. Also on this level is the kitchen, which feels more like an English countryside cottage than an NYC cookhouse with its exposed brick walls, teak butcher block counters, and wood ceiling joists.
The master bedroom takes up the entire second floor and comes complete with a private fireplace, sitting area, walk-in closet, and a separate study. Our favorite room in the home has to be the vintage-inspired bathroom. We wish all en-suites came with an antique pedestal sink, a carved wood soaking tub, and all-over tiling.
Outside, an expansive deck opens up to the sunny backyard garden. Homeowners can take advantage of the property’s unheard of privacy by opting for a dip in the vintage outdoor soaking tub.
