If you consider yourself a maximalist (or even, maximalist-adjacent), you likely know Luke Edward Hall. The 29-year-old has been a darling of the London design scene since he founded his studio in 2015. His signature painterly pieces are splashed across various collaborations with the likes of Burberry and Liberty London; now, he’s adding another exciting partnership to his résumé. Hall is collaborating with iconic Swedish design company Svenskt Tenn for a range of decor items, set to debut on May 17, and you might want to set up a calendar reminder because we have a feeling these pieces are going to sell out quickly.

Hall’s colorful style seamlessly fuses a contemporary sensibility with traditional British references; a combination that might look contrived coming from someone less skilled but feels totally effortless at his hand. He once told us Cecil Beaton was his “aesthetic hero” yet he never shies away from a bold, playful print.

In sum, his eclectic pieces always bring a smile to our faces. Hall brings this same cheery liveliness to his upcoming collection with Svenskt Tenn, which sees painterly figures etched onto a series of cushions, lampshades, bags, and even a tray.

“The world can be pretty dark and gloomy, so it feels meaningful for me to embrace bold colors,” said Hall, who is a longtime fan of the Swedish firm. “I have always loved to surround myself with color—to live with it, wear it, and create things with it. I guess it is about optimism; colors bring happiness.”

Bring an otherwise drab sofa to life with the addition of one (or two, if you feel like splurging) of the colorful cushions that feature complementary colors that make them perfect for layering. Any one of the four lampshades would be a great way to spruce up an old lamp if you don’t want to buy a new one—simply keep the base and swap out the shade. Every piece features an intricate watercolor design, making it look bespoke.

The Luke Edward Hall x Svenskt Tenn collection will be shown on May 17 at the firm’s Stockholm boutique—if you happen to be in the Swedish capital soaking up the design scene, be sure to stop by and shop the collaboration while perusing a series of products curated by Hall himself. For those stuck stateside (present party included), keep an eye on  svenskttenn.se to shop the products as soon as they launch. Race you to the checkout page.
