Congratulations are in order for Restored by the Fords star Leanne Ford. The Los Angeles–based designer and her husband, Erik Allen, welcomed their first child, Ever, this past March. It should come as no surprise that the couple brought their baby girl home to an incredibly chic nursery.

In a recent interview with People, Ford revealed that she wanted her daughter’s nursery to feel “magical” and “happy” without having to take on a head-to-toe renovation. In lieu of knocking down walls and expanding the room’s footprint, the designer focused on low-lift changes with high impact. Trailing greenery and an ever-changing “love wall” covered in notes and other meaningful mementos are just two details that set the stage for whimsy.

Here are three design ideas we’re stealing for the nursery and beyond.

Sculptural Seating

Faye Toogood’s Roly Poly chair is a staple in cool NYC living rooms. Who knew it could work wonders in a nursery, too? Ford and her bundle of joy can retreat to this beautiful (and babyproof) pick when they’re not in the mood for rocking.

Celestial-Inspired Lighting

With a Target lighting collection already under her belt, we aren’t surprised statement lighting steals the show. Given the lack of overhead fixtures in the room, Ford lit up the nursery with a vintage Sputnik-style wall sconce instead. The larger-than-life design sets the mood for bedtime. “It’s really cute at night, because it’s on a dimmer and she loves staring at it,” Ford told People.

Morrocan Floor Poufs

Little Ever will need a cushy place to crash once she learns to walk. A cozy array of layered Moroccan rugs and floor cushions will surely soften the fall. In the meantime, the extra dose of texture adds warmth to the space and offers a spot for Mom and Dad to kick back in between naps.
