Just a few weeks before the premiere of Queer Eye season three, the Fab Five’s culture expert Karamo Brown has purchased a new home in Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley. The $1.24 million residence has a mid-’60s structure, paired with contemporary interior finishes. Basically, it’s a perfectly calming retreat for a busy star on the rise.
A built-in modern fireplace lends a cozy appeal to the living room, while an expansive, recently renovated kitchen makes the home perfectly suited for entertaining. White surfaces paired with wooden lower cabinets are a nod to the home’s mid-century origins executed through a contemporary lens.
Large windows and French doors grant the two-story home an airy feeling, and pale hardwood floors offer a subtle Scandinavian vibe. The large backyard pool, however, feels distinctively Californian.
With his wedding coming up in 2020, Brown surely plans to host friends and family in his new space, and now, he likely has some time to relax. After filming Queer Eye’s upcoming season in both Missouri and Japan, he’ll be able to properly nest—after all, he needs somewhere comfortable to write his upcoming memoir.
Brown may have a busy schedule, but as he teaches time and time again, it’s important to make time for personal projects and relaxation, and what better way to do that than to have a bit of fun decorating a new space? With close friend and fellow Fab Five member Bobby Berk on speed dial, his new home is sure to end up looking spectacular.
